Today I had the opportunity to attend the Campsie Food Festival. Each year approximately 15,000 people crowd the streets and enjoy an array of music, entertainment, cooking demonstrations, and cuisine from all around the world.

While wandering around shortly after arriving, I spotted Walter Mason, author of Destination Saigon, who most graciously informed me about the poffertjes stand. As a regular at the Dutch Festival, my little heart was leaping with joy – as it should’ve had Oranje won last year’s football World Cup final.

Soon afterward I spotted SBS’ Thang Ngo, also of Noodlies blog fame, who had just interviewed Masterchef Australia Series 2 finalist Alvin Quah. Keep an eye out for that!

About twenty minutes later, my friend Frances Jones and her two boys arrived and we were off to check out the many food stalls as well as some of the environs of the Campsie shopping precinct.
